Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a condition where the body experiences chronic hyperglycemia accompanied by various metabolic disorders due to hormonal disorders, causing various chronic complications in the eyes, kidneys, nerves and blood vessels. Hyperglycemia or increased blood sugar, is a common effect of uncontrolled diabetes which causes serious damage to many body systems, especially the nerves and blood vessels (Murtiningsih, 2021). There is a strong relationship between diet and blood sugar levels. If your diet is not good according to the recommended dietary principles, there will be instability in blood sugar levels. Based on the results of the initial survey, people still lack knowledge, and think that diabetes is a common disease and there is no need to control blood sugar levels every month, some people forget to take their medicine, there are still some who forget to take their medicine. not complying with eating patterns such as foods that can increase sugar levels. blood, Based on the results of the initial survey, people still lack knowledge, and think Diabetes is a common disease and there is no need to control blood sugar levels every month, there are those who forget to take their medicine, there are still those who forget to take their medicine. not adhering to maintaining a diet such as foods that can increase blood sugar levels. From these findings, it was found that every patient, especially Diabetes Control Community participants seeking outpatient treatment, had unstable or frequently elevated blood sugar test results.
