Abstract

Cardiovascular disease remains a major health concern among older adults and is closely associated with several modifiable risk factors. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge of older adults attending an integrated health post regarding cardiovascular disease prevention through the Healthy Heart Generation Program. The program was conducted on August 18, 2026, in Mangunsari Village, Tegowanu District, Grobogan Regency, Central Java, Indonesia, involving 25 participants. A Posyandu-based health education approach with a one-group pretest–posttest evaluation was applied. Health education was delivered through interactive lectures using PowerPoint presentations and posters, followed by discussion and question-and-answer sessions. The evaluation showed that the mean knowledge score increased from 64.0 ± 5.00 before the intervention to 98.0 ± 4.08 after the intervention, representing a 34.0-point increase (p < 0.001). The Healthy Heart Generation Program demonstrated the potential of Posyandu-based health education to improve short-term knowledge regarding cardiovascular disease prevention among older adults. Periodic education, strengthened involvement of community health cadres, and follow-up evaluation are recommended to support program sustainability.
