Abstract

Occupational diseases are health problems that can reduce worker productivity and increase the risk of health disorders in industrial settings. This community service activity aimed to improve workers’ knowledge regarding the prevention of occupational diseases at PT Intidragon Suryatama Mojokerto as an implementation of the nurse’s role in the industrial community. The activity was conducted among 50 workers using lecture, discussion, question-and-answer, brainstorming, and simulation methods supported by leaflets and PowerPoint presentations. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test assessments of workers’ knowledge. The results showed an increase in workers’ knowledge levels after the educational intervention, where the proportion of workers with good knowledge increased from 20% to 80%. Statistical analysis showed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant difference before and after the education program. Health education was proven effective in improving workers’ knowledge regarding occupational disease prevention and should be conducted regularly as a promotive and preventive effort in industrial settings.
