Adolescents are expected to have high self-efficacy to face various developmental challenges. However, many adolescents still exhibit low self-efficacy. This impacts their ability to make decisions, complete tasks, and face various challenges. One non-pharmacological treatment that can be used to improve self-efficacy is five-finger hypnosis therapy. This study aimed to determine the effect of five-finger hypnosis therapy on self-efficacy in seventh-grade adolescents at SMPN 2 Jatirogo Tuban.
The research design used in this study was a quantitative pre-experimental one-group pre-post test design through a cohort approach. The population in this study were 76 seventh-grade adolescents at SMPN 2 Jatirogo Tuban. The sampling technique used probability sampling with cluster random sampling for 64 respondents. The instruments used in this study were a self-efficacy questionnaire and a five-finger hypnosis therapy standard operating procedure (SOP).
The research results obtained after conducting the Wilcoxon test with a significance level of α = <0.05 with a p value = 0.000 <0.05, which means H1 is accepted, namely there is an effect of five-finger hypnosis therapy on self-efficacy in adolescents. From the description above, it can be concluded that five-finger hypnosis therapy has an effect on self-efficacy in seventh-grade adolescents at SMPN 2 Jatirogo Tuban.
