PEMBERDAYAAN IBU DALAM PENGGUNAAN APLIKASI SI RIDA UNTUK PENCEGAHAN KAKI DIABETIK DI LINGKUNGAN KELUARGA

Abstract

Diabetic foot is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus that can lead to ulcers and amputations. Prevention requires early risk detection and active family involvement, particularly mothers as primary health managers within the household. This community service program aimed to empower mothers in using the Si RiDA application as a digital tool for diabetic foot risk detection in the family setting. The program was conducted through health education and hands-on training for members of Aisyiyah Organization in Lumajang Regency. Activities included education on diabetes and foot care, demonstrations of diabetic foot care, and assistance in installing and operating the Android-based Si RiDA application. Evaluation was conducted by observing participants’ ability to use the application and comprehend the educational content. The results showed improved knowledge and skills, with more than 85% of participants able to operate the Si RiDA application effectively and understand risk categories and recommended actions. This program also enhanced mothers’ motivation to actively participate in preventing diabetic foot complications among family members. Empowering mothers through digital health applications is an effective strategy to prevent diabetic complications at the household level
