Abstract

This community service uses a quantitative method with a purposive sampling design. Community service is carried out in Samau village, Biak Numfor, Papua. The goal is to accept the transfer of the role of adolescent self-care in preventing malaria in endemic areas. The population of the community service is 70 respondents. Primary data was obtained through a questionnaire. The inclusion criteria were adolescents aged 10-19 years, residents of Samau village, family members or friends, and willingness to accept malaria prevention empowerment. Exclusive criteria are not adolescents, people outside Samau village, or adolescents who are not willing to accept empowerment. Secondary data are official documents from the Ministry of Health, WHO, and reputable journals in Indonesian and English published in the last five years. The data analysis used univariate. The results of the community service showed that most respondents were active students (45%) and did not attend school (25%). Willing to participate in empowerment 45%. Respondents who had ever had malaria n = 58 (82.9%). The average attendance rate was 92.9% and showed good indicators (> 70%). The biggest challenge is physical condition (31%). The conclusion is the level of empowerment readiness for the transfer of self-care roles to malaria prevention, with an average attendance rate of 92.9%, shows a good indicator (>70%). The biggest challenge is the physical condition is still very young but potential (31%).
