Pelatihan Teknik Menghentikan Perdarahan dan Pembidaian Korban Cedera untuk Peningkatan Pengetahuan dan Keterampilan First Aid pada Anggota Babinsa dalam Wilayah Kerja Kodim 0103 Kabupaten Aceh Utara

Abstract

Preparedness in handling potential medical emergencies is a crucial aspect in every community, especially for members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), who play a vital role in maintaining security and order. The village supervisory non-commissioned officers (Babinsa) serve as the front liners in territorial development at the village level, often becoming the first responders during accidents, conflicts, or natural disasters. In areas like North Aceh, which are prone to earthquakes, tsunamis, and have a history of conflict, the ability of Babinsa to provide first aid—particularly in bleeding control and immobilization—is essential. This community service activity was conducted by the Department of Nursing at Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh with the aim of enhancing Babinsa's capacity through practical training in basic first aid techniques. A total of 30 Babinsa representatives from the Kodim 0103/Aceh Utara participated in the training, which combined theoretical sessions with hands-on practice and simulations. Pre- and post-tests showed a significant increase in participants knowledge, technical skills, and confidence in providing emergency care. The training has proven effective in preparing Babinsa to respond quickly and accurately in emergency situations, supporting the national program of disaster risk reduction and strengthening the role of TNI in community-based disaster management.
