ABSTRACT
Pregnancy planning is an important part of efforts to improve reproductive health and prevent pregnancy complications, anemia, and stunting. Prospective brides and grooms as couples of reproductive age require physical, mental, and social readiness before entering pregnancy. Communication, Information, and Education (IEC) is an effective promotive and preventive strategy in improving reproductive readiness of prospective brides and grooms. However, the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) still does not have a systematically integrated education model. This study aims to find an integrated IEC model related to pregnancy planning for prospective brides and grooms at the KUA through a Systematic Literature Review approach with PRISMA Guidelines. The novelty of this study lies in the synthesis of evidence related to the development of an integrative IEC model based on: interpersonal communication, visual and digital media, reproductive health counseling, and cross-sector collaboration between health workers and the KUA in supporting pregnancy planning readiness in prospective brides and grooms. Article searches were conducted through Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Garuda, and DOAJ databases from 2020–2025. Of the 125 articles found, 15 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using CASP and the JBI Checklist. The review results show that the IEC model is effective in increasing: reproductive health knowledge, readiness for pregnancy planning, awareness of premarital health checks, and prevention of anemia and stunting.
