Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is a metabolic disorder during pregnancy that can increase the risk of maternal andinfant mortality as well as long-term complications such as type II diabetes. In Kediri City, cases of diabetes complications in pregnant women increased from 1.57% to1.80% in the 2022-2023 period. The lack of optimized earlydetection and community understanding regarding healthyeating patterns are major obstacles in GDM management. This community service activity aims to increase theknowledge and skills of health cadres in Bandar Lor Villagethrough training on healthy menu selection and early GDM detection using HbA1c examination. The methods usedincluded structured education, menu preparationdemonstrations, and technical training for early detectionprovided to 65 cadres and pregnant women. The results of theactivity showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge, where the proportion of participants in the "good" knowledge category increased drastically from 46.2% (30 people) during the pre-test to 92.3% (60 people) during thepost-test. In conclusion, educational intervention throughcadre training has proven effective in increasing healthliteracy related to the prevention of gestational diabetes, which is expected to reduce maternal and neonatal complication rates in the region.
