Abstract

A high-risk pregnancy is one that has the potential for complications or health problems for the mother and or fetus during pregnancy, childbirth, or postpartum, compared to a normal pregnancy. Therefore, it is necessary to provide information and knowledge to pregnant womwn and their families regaeding the potential complications and problems that may arise during pregnancy, as well as how to prevent and manage them. This research aims to raise awareness among pregnant women and thei families about thr importance of proper antenatal care, thereby reducing the risk of complication and improving the health of both mother and baby. This is research-based community service activity, with a quasi-experimental design and a one-group pre test and post-test design to assess the effectiveness of the education provided. Partisipants were 15 pregnant women in the Carangrejo Village, Kesamben Jombang. Education was conducted using educational videos specifically designed regarding high-risk pregnancies and their complication. After the education, the pre-test and post-test scores of the participants were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The majority of respondents were at a non-risk age (80%), had a high scholl education (60%), were in their second trimester (53%), and were multigravida (47%). There was a significant difference in pre-test and post-test scores (p=0,000) and an average increase of 1,52. With educational activities using educational videoas, it is proven to be effective in increasing pregnant women’s knowledge about high-risk pregnancies as an effort to reduce maternal mortality. It is hoped that the community will also increase their knowledge about pregnancy not only through health workers but also through the media and other information sources.
