PENYULUHAN TENTANG TEKHNIK MENYUSUI YANG BAIK DAN BENAR PADA IBU MENYUSUI DI DESA TOTOBO KECAMATAN POMALAA KABUPATEN KOLAKA

Abstract

A mother's knowledge of breastfeeding techniques will lead to a deeper understanding of the good and bad effects of breastfeeding. The influencing factor in the success of breastfeeding is the mother's knowledge about good and correct breastfeeding methods which include the position of the mother's body and baby, the position of the baby's mouth and the mother's nipple. The purpose of the empowerment service activity is to increase community knowledge, especially breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women about good and correct breastfeeding techniques. This service is a type of descriptive study conducted in January 2025 in Totobo Village, Pomalaa District, Kolaka Regency. A total of 15 nursing mothers and pregnant women who acted as respondents were given counseling in the form of lectures and demonstrations, which were selected using the total sampling technique. Data collection was done using a questionnaire. The results showed that the pretest knowledge was 35.7% and after the posttest there was an increase in knowledge to 82.8%. The results of this activity showed the benefits of counseling to the community of Totobo Village regarding good and correct breastfeeding techniques.
