Abstract

Anemia causes many problems for pregnant women, both for the health of the mother during pregnancy, or for the baby itself. This anemia can even make it difficult for mothers to get pregnant, experience miscarriage, and bleeding during childbirth. The data obtained shows that pregnant women with anemia reach 48.9%, this was stated by the 2023 Basic Health Research. Meanwhile, based on WHO data in developing countries, 52% of mothers experience anemia. Red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) is very rich in vitamins, namely A, C and E. Protein, carbohydrates, fat, minerals, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium and calcium are also contained in red spinach. Of the several plants that exist, red spinach has a higher iron content, so it can help pregnant women get out of the problem of anemia. But in reality, there are still many mothers who are not aware of the nutritional content of red spinach. The purpose of this activity is to provide education to pregnant women, about the bad condition of anemia during pregnancy, which can be prevented by consuming red spinach which is high in iron. This red spinach is easy to obtain and easy to cultivate, making it economical and healthy for pregnant women.
