PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN SARI JAHE MERAH DAN SARI KULIT BUAH NAGA MENJADI PERMEN JELLY SEBAGAI ALTERNATIF PENGOBATAN PENYAKIT DEGENARATIF

Abstract

Natural ingredients used as traditional medicine are considered to have lower risks compared to chemical-based drugs. Some plants that can be used as medicine from natural ingredients include red ginger and dragon fruit. Red ginger is commonly used for kitchen ingredients as well as medicinal purposes because it contains compounds with various biological activities. Meanwhile, antioxidants in dragon fruit have many benefits, but the skin has not been used and is often just discarded as useless material. Antioxidant compounds contained in dragon fruit skin are useful for health and have the potential to be used for natural dyes. Jelly candy is one of the processed food products where it is easy to make and can use red ginger juice and dragon fruit peel juice as active substances, with additional ingredients, namely agar. This service activity aims to provide training to the community on the processing of red ginger juice and dragon fruit peel juice into jelly candy. The method used was practical training on making jelly candy from natural ingredients of red ginger juice and dragon fruit peel juice. The results of the training showed that this activity succeeded in increasing the knowledge and skills of residents of Malendeng Village, Paal 2 District, in processing red ginger juice and dragon fruit peel juice into jelly candy which has health benefits
